Description

Nobody cared about him and he didn't care about them. Boder was a lone Durgh who had as keen a knowledge of humans, as he did the forest creatures. Durghs had a bit of magic and it fared him better for purposes of stealing around the Human villages than it did in The Woods, where everyone had magic. Venturing into The Woods for the giant mushrooms and other delicacies, Boder had heard of the Fae war that was going on deep in the forest. He had little curiosity to know any more and stayed on the outskirts. He found her wandering, almost at the line that was the end of the Fae world. Her name was N'paloi. Boder knew that a Greenwing would be high up in their society and they might come looking for her. She asked for help and he figured he'd give it. "I have a house not far from here. We can go there." Boder told the fairy. "You live in a house?" she asked wih a certain amount of worry. Houses are not the same as homes in the Fae world. Houses have square walls and square windows. Few have seen a house, but they seem like terrible places to live, or so N'paloi had been told. They preferred the curves of trees and caves. Boder's house was a long-abandoned hunting lodge. Outside The Woods it was winter and no one would ever venture out that far. He had means for fire and once there, built one to warm them up. The fairy wasn't impressed with the frugal lifestyle of the Durgh. There was nothing there except a pile of bricks to sit on and some bread and cheese. They traded stories late into the night and each weighed the other's words, wondering if they cold trust one another. In time, Boder would tell her about the comfortable celler he had under the house, furnished with all his "found" treasures from the Humans. N'paloi would tell him how she escaped the prison of her enemy and that for helping her, Boder would be handsomely rewarded by her father, who was King. Unless her captors found them first, of course. *** Boder's head was made in ZBrush a few years ago and is the creature in my personal favorite image, "What are you going as for Halloween?". *** Wings by Thorne, wing mat by Handspan Studios. House made in Amapi, textures from Brycearts

Love those walls and floors, all studded with stuff, like detritus, makes the house feel more derelict and abandoned. The lights are key! And, great humor too :-)
