You've got a great thing happening here! Wonderful depth and colors. The only "Don't" that occurs to me is Don't Overdo It. This is not a criticism of what you've done so far (130 layers?!?!!?), but more of a "Know When To Stop" sort of thing, if you know what I mean. I know what it's like to keep going with an image and then end up going back to an earlier, simpler version as the final.

On another note, could you give more info on where to find the walk-through you mention above?
