this is a german prisoner of war ww1 with some of the prison pets got it out of The Library of Congress all picture there before 1923 is copyright free

Oh, how wonderful! I love the photo and what you have done to it! I never gave thought to the prisoner of war pets. It is very touching. I have a magpie that looks exactly like the one he has on his left hand. The colors seem to bring out the unity of the animals. Look how the cat and magpie sit so close together. (My cats love my magpie.) Amazing, jocko! I love this picture! Excellent.
