Well, it's been WAAAAAYYY too long since I've been around and I *could* whine and snivel 'bout all the real-life things that got in the way of fun-time AND the severe case of 3D-burnout that I was suffering from...but, frankly "Who gives a damn?!?" LOL!! Had visions of a 'Dickensian' epic render for my reentry to the Gallery, but this is the best I could put together '-)! Now I'm off to check out two weeks worth of others' postings!!
Thanks to DAZ(characters), Lemog(texes), Helmut Schaub(chuck wagon), and L.W.Perkins for her MilCat texture!

(Hope this won't be found pedantic but I feel some explanation is needed..) Again you depicted faithfully an ancient dwarfish custom : Helmet tailoring . As everybody should know, dwarfes have a very tough skull... it comes from them being brought up in dark, low-roofed caves and bumping their heads into jutting rocks. It hardens their skulls but also deforms it a lot ... so, as no well-bred, fashion-conscious dwarf, would accept wearing an ill-fitting helmet on the battlefield, he goes to the smith to have it adapted snugly. And the only way to do that perfectly, is to hammer the helmet directly on the skull of the customer! I can only applause with both hands to this fabulous and most excellent illustration !!!

Hey, i have no idea why i have missed that. Sorry my friend. Brilliant image, so much detail. I would say, forget your burnout and do more of those. We all will be happy. In the late 60s there was a book with the title "Do IT". Remember that and do it!
