Description

All the Mars Mobile Bases are the names of Mars from different Earth cultures. This one bears the ancient Greek name for the planet. This is an early picture made in Bryce 4. The people were low res models downloaded from 3D Cafe to which I added a bubble helmet and a life support pack, plus what materials they have. I'm presenting it to show the faithful Matronaut fans what the mobile base looks like, or rather, the scale of the thing. The newer unfinished version is a little bigger and far more realistic looking than this collection of spheres, ovids, torus, etc., even though it does retain the basic shape. I'm least satisfied with the wheels on the above pic, but have fixed that on the new with wheels that are huge versions of the Mars Mule seen elsewhere in this gallery. What would one call this kind of vehicle? A 24-wheeler? A 12-bi? Ha.

Thanks for the kind remarks. Retired, one of these days, I'll make a picture with the whole lot of vehicles: The bigger, newer M4, surrounded with three MR5s towing a Mars Mule. Now wouldn't that make a pictue?
