Description

This image is (another!) from the Dead Elephant series, created late 2001. The series develops the themes of industrialistion and mechanisation of nature from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. I used Adobe Photoshop 5.5 (and Bryce 4). Very grateful for any comments.

I think it's a cool image but it really needs more contrast in order to see and appreciate the mechanization. :)

fantastic! not sure, dawnstar... I feel it's much better as it is, as they're creatures in a murky river or pond, not a crystal clear sea! having looked at redpelica's other amaaazing stuff - check them out! - emphasis is on suggestion, atmosphere and subtle hints, rather than-in-your-face detail! maybe he could upload some image details (ie closeups of fish etc) to please the masses?! :)

i just realised that I loaded up a different image here from that which I intended - all the dead elephant series have a caption. This image's should be 'fissh! nice fissh! (from the forbidden pool)'...
