Friggan cool. I'd have to take a snapshot of a similar glass from same angle, something seems off... maybe it's "too good". Maybe not, I tend to hyperanalyze things. At any rate, GREAT render!

now u just have to work on the water... no honestly the new max comes with a mentaly ray glas material preset that just kicks.. if you are serious 'bout this though i think you just should look at that shadow you got there.. you see it looks real odd, as if it was only 2 layers of polygons and no volume.. :) thats life with 3d.

I only got Max 5.0. Dont have mental ray and i do i duno how to use it! :)

The glass refracts light more than the water does.

Caustics are always the height of a debate especially when dealing with Liquids. Tricks can be played with single layered glass, and another for liquid but it takes practice. Each peroson has thier own style and knows what feels right. Go to the internet and just search for glasses and you will be amazed at what you have to do to duplicate that look realistically. Brazil and Vray make this process much easier. If this is only your first second maybe 3rd render of glass and water you did a damn good job. -Shock
