Thank you. Good to know this. But a in depth tutorial would be better. Could you make one?

"Thank you. Good to know this. But a in depth tutorial would be better. Could you make one?" When I get some time, sure. :)

great stuff - so you ink in photoshop i might have to try that - what dpi do you scan in at?
Juji
Yes, the inking is in ps. I don't scan, I just sketch in photoshop. Saves time. ^^

The scary thing is even before you started your shading techniques this would have been an outstanding piece of work. The last frame (color on sunset) would have been a worthy offering for anyone. How long does each step usually take you?
LCGuy
Started out as a "messy sketch"?? Where, I don't see any "messy sketch"'s.. :)

This is great but I agree...an in depth tutorial is in order!!!

a question - when you ink im assuming you do it with the painbrush? - what does masking it with the pen tool mean? this is definately something i wanna try - thanks for taking the time to post your process!
Juji
hmmm. Maybe I'll just make a more in depth tutorial that also explains the pen tool. Sorry guys, I guess this only showed you the steps I took, not how to take them. Me and my crap tutorials....

Excellent tut!!! I recently bought a full version Painter 8 (still unopened in the original box!) over at Ebay for 180,- Euros only, which is about half of the regular price and I can't wait to get my hands on it. :))) Many thanks for sharing this great tut with us!
