Description
I could hear things. The wind whistling by, sometimes screaming in it's rush, rain beating on the roof and it's insistent tapping against the glass.Thunder that seemed to roll on forever before ending in a deafening boom.
That was outside. Inside I could sense a soft whispering, thoughwhat it was or where it was coming from I could not tell. And fluttering.
All around me and above me, the fluttering.
The room was dark, lit only by lightening in sudden blinding flashes.
In those instances I tried to discern my surroundings, find my bearings.Look for an exit!
What is that fluttering??
Another flash of lightening and I saw it! A staircase. InstinctivelyI knew I had to go up. My sanctuary lay up that stairway.
I started toward it, my salvation, my haven from this place. Immediatelythe fluttering sound increased, drew nearer. I quickened my pace, praying my senses would guide me in this dark.
I felt a soft breeze against my skin. The fluttering sound wassurrounding me. Birds!! There were birds all around me, hindering my
progress. As soon as this realization came to me I felt a sharp pain on my left cheek. I felt the warm trickle of blood.
My breath started coming in hard gasps, my heart was pounding in my chest.
I must get up that stairway.....to sanctuary.

Hi Barbara! I don't read the other comments. My raven would never make this!!! He is my friend and looks only what arranges the life so! Sad story to your work and nearly insanity. Remembers me of a own, wrote 20 years ago. Any art is urgent need in this life. Awful but their only reason. I'm accustomed so a existence. But i think, -not the right for you!!! Th.

yes i wish i could wake up and find that this 19 mo was just a nightmare...but its not its rea;l..too real....i keep looking for a sign that Im going HOME...but its not my time so I painfully await..but the silver lining is this site and Angels like u Barbara who inspire me to keep creatin and keep looking for restored health..if i dont then i will reach out and talk to ppl encoraging them and showing them unconditional love is already yours....when my time comes some how ill make it up those stairs...excellent barbara...hugs love n God Bless...Laura
