Description

This is a version of the ship before it was moved into my "Fellowship of Star Faring Sentients" universe. This image is dedicated to Eres/Serge Robin who made it possible for me to post my artwork in the Bryce gallery of Renderosity. The Scene In the year 805 of the Galactic Union Era, The Human Exploration Cruiser of the Galactic Star Survey Corps, "Core of Curiosity" responds to a distress call from a starship of another Galactic Union member. Fortunately, the seemingly lifeless derelict in fact contained a number of surviving crew members safely protected in stasis chambers. The Image This images was created using a Bryce, TrueSpace, Universe Image Creator and Corel Draw. The "derelict" model was created in Bryce and kindly provided to me by Eres/Serge Robin. Other 3D modeling was done using TrueSpace 6.6. The background came from an astronomy software CD and the running lights were generated using Universe Image Creator. The website banner graphics were made in Corel Draw.

Thanks everybody for all the kind comments. As mentioned in my notes above, the 3D model of the derelict was created by Eres/Serge Robin. I merely added a layered texture and bumpmap. I am pleased you all liked the point-of-view on this image. I wasn't sure how viewers would respond since it is different from my previous stuff.
