Here are Chuck's personal words to the community:
I am a self-taught artist, formerly working in traditional or conventional media. For the last two years I have been experimenting with CG (Computer Graphics), and trying to transition from traditional/conventional media to digital imaging. In a few words, I simply love art and always have. Many of my images are "post-worked" by hand, re-scanned and manipulated in Photoshop. On occasion, I still use pencil, Prismacolor, Silverpoint, Pen & Ink or painting to achieve the desired effect. Whether executed the "old way" or the "new way" or a combination of both, which I often fall back on.
Art is art and it is the end result that is (hopefully) appreciated.

Some of my friends say that the difference is in the Monitor's different calibrations: Kelvin and Gamma settings, etc. and it is even more different between Macs and PCs...so, I thought I'd give it a try.

Both versions looked good to me--this one is lighter on my PC, and i can see mere detail; though I did like the moodiness of the last one.

I didn
t see the darker one but I can
t imagine you posting an image that`s not breath taking ;-)dragonfly2000
I like them both, and for different reasons. The colours here and the face are very attractive to my eye; the darker one was a 'dark' mood. Well done.

Una maravilla de trabajo!

Yes! The lighter areas in this one make for a better composition. They lead the eye to the face.

this more rainbowish version is even more poetical...

Well Chuck, I have to look at the other one..but I have a cheesy little 15' monitor by NEC and the colors are absolutely vibrant, my problem is I cant view the whole picture. I think its just beautiful.
