Description

Two Hawks do a looking for food sweep low to the ground. 2 Rabbits decide not to move too much. And a friendly snake slides through the area. Picket Post was a US army Heliograph post. They had set up 15 Heliograph Post on high bluffs to communicate the where abouts of the Indians during this time period. This only lasted a few years as some of the Indians learned to imitate the mirror signals. In the mean time gold and silver were discovered in this area and the town of Picket Post popped into existence. It was never a big town and served mainly the US army with a few near by prospectors. There are at least 12 other ghost towns in this general area, most of them as well as Picket Post are on private property. This is # 2 in my Ghost town series. Hope you enjoy. TG and psp for post

I know places like this in Arizona; I have seen them a number of times. This looks very real.
