Description

I think Pippin and his cohort (which may come along in a portrair at a later date) were what we might consider to be reluctant heroes. Their wonderful qualities came out whether they wanted them to or not. I really enjoyed the growth of Pippin's character throughtout the Trilogy and was so surprised at his wonderful voice in "The Return of the King". Once again, I began this portrait with a light pencil (outline) sketch of Pippin referenced from a wallpaper from the LOTR site. I then took it into a new program I bought approximate 2 weeks ago called {Photo Impact Pro 8.5...Far more than a photo editor, it is a graphic painter's masterpiece as far as I am concerned. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think it has many more options than PSP 8 and the user interface is also quite well done...} Anyway...I then started working and have been for the past two weeks on Pippin. The frame, background, Gold Rose and Eye came from PSP8. I haven't quite figured all of those elements from PI Pro yet...but I will. Thank you for stopping by to take a look and for commenting. It means so much to me that you would do so. I promise to get to all of the comments I need to make as well as the thank you's tonight and tomorrow. Thank you for your patience. Have a truly wonderful day and evening!...Cheryl

Another stunning image Cheryl, really brings a special depth and richness to the subject. Before R2D2 and C3PO these guys blazed the trail of characters that represent "everyone" in Fantasy. Superb artistry!

I publicly apologise that I don't make it to your excellent gallery as often as I would like my friend, and neither do I get to comment as much as I would like, so I would like to make this comment special, in order to enforce how much I really enjoy your work - more so now that you have moved fully into color paintings. As much as you may have been so surprised by his voice, it pales in comparison to the joyous surprise I found in viewing your most recent digital paintings. This one has a magic all its own Cheryl, and not only have you captured his likeness with near perfection, I was floored by the wonderful magic you worked on his cloak - the texture is absolutely stunning. Excellent work young lady and a deserved vote!
