No, but you can grow sad. Dont, a smile can be beautiful, hope is always somewhere. ;) Just seek. But, about the shot, I love the softness, almost like it was pensel, the light/dark diversion combined with the peircing eye, is a eyeopener.

Beautiful B&W photo. I like the softness and the whole picture. Perhaps blur effect is a bit too uniform. And even a small light on the eyes can improve "expression".

I think that the "flat" look in the eyes magnifies the "sad" experience. Kind of dead looking. If the lack of light in the eyes was deliberate, it was smart. A most intensely withdrawn and expressionless face. An apt title.

the fixicity of lips and eyes, so staring, so plain dark really express the sadness. But the glorious beauty still shine and no, no one is born to be always sad. Just give yourself and life a chance, and sun can come, believe. Excellent postwork and mood, btw.
