A coastal relic living in Campbell River, BC., rattling around the beaches and the bush. Hobbies are anything nautical, unsuccesful prospecting and treasure hunting, gardening and photography. Have built and operated 5 commercial salmon/log salvage boats, and still love playing with tools, and messing about in boats.BIO"I have often thought in all the world, The saddest thing to be; Old admirals that feel the wind, But never put to sea." Al Stewart, fron Past, Present, and Future. After a lifetime of fishing, beachcombing,(log salvage) and generally messing about, health issues have put me on the beach for good. You never completely get the salt water out of your veins, though. This gallery gives me a chance to fish some memories out of shoe boxes and share them, something that's rapidly becoming another hobby. I began fishing for money at age 11, 6 if you count trading rockcod for popsicles. I hope you enjoy my reminiscing.

I agree about the branch, but I guess it stays. Firstly, I'm a bit of a purist, and don't really care for enhanced photos. Secondy, I'm either too stupid or too lazy, or some combination of the two, to figure photoshop out. In a way it's a good thing, because it makes me think a little more when I take the shot. Thanks for you advice, though, it will help the next time I'm in a similar situation.

This looks like a Mustache that has been washed overboard....rescue it Jim....it is on the Starboard Bow....through it a Buoy....give it a Half Hitch....well done Chum.....and, I sympathize Re: "Mysteries of PotatoShop"....it has taken Me a Year of One on One ...Intensive Tuition...sigh...just to pronounce it.....amd, yep....getting rid of that Branch is easily said than done....especially for those who are not of the Digital or Computer Generation, and even when Folk offer to Help....there Language eludes some of Us. Big Hugz Cobber...You are unpretentious :]

An excellent abstract photo !!!

Excellent mood shot Jim! I agree with Gerhard about the branch, but it's still a great shot!!! :)

Great shot with wonderful contrast love the lighting in the clouds, the branch may be in the way (depending on your point of view), but it does symbolize reality, in life and photography not all is always perfect. It would be no challenge if it was. There is beauty in everything and you have found it here.

I have looked at this so many times...keep coming back wondering what comment to make and I'm still wondering...it's so abstractly natural...is there such a thing? So, how about...AMAZING!
terra-man
The twig in the right botom isd disturbing... Other then that this is a great shot, the grass seems to be floating in the air... Great shot!

I would not remove the branch. The grass seems like to float in the air .. very original and fantastic image! The branch just shows that this is not a montage or something like this :) Wonderful shot!!

Yes, the branch in the "down corner" brings us back to reality and helps us know which way is up!! [];^)
