Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 - Apophysises 1 and 2b15 - Photoshop7 Well, I couldn't leave well enough alone! - lol Here's a new version of my last post with the full spaceship in a smaller size to (I think?) give a better vibe of the vastness of space that the Robinsons find themselves lost in. I added more detail to the interior and the spinning light on the top from the tv show version of the ship. The spaceship is made using Klaus-Peter Kubic's "KPK Zeppbarn" formula with Outside coloring algorithm - "Advanced Gnarl" by Mark Townsend. A great combo popularized by Wojteg. I used 3d sphere mapping and KPK "Magic Glass2" mapping for the shape and Clipping and Reverse Scissors mapping for the window and "spinner". As the ship grew from 6 to 34 layers and I cringed in horror at the prospect of figuring out Damien's mirror mapping for all these layers (yikes!)- especially since the other side of the sphere looks totally different - I "wimped out" :>) and rendered the whole works in .png format, then mirrored with Photoshop and pasted it onto the background. It now maybe looks like the ship in the 1999 movie - or a Cylon ship from "Battlestar Galactica". (Now THAT'S dating myself! lol) Thanks for stopping by to see this reprise! - I think this version is a better composition and I hope y'all do, too. What do you think? :>)

I guess I like this one better, being able to see the whole ship is cool. Sounds like it took you as long to make this ship as it did to really build it. Fantastic work!
