Description

...and though tranquil enough in calm weather, WidowsCurve has taken a terrible toll on any ship that falls foul of her ill temper. For here the cold northern 'dreana' stream meets the tropical 'kilona' stream. Usually the 2 streams are perfectly balanced, but if one should overpower the other, the effect is catastrophic. Great 40 foot waves are created in the normally still waters, and any ship unlucky enough to be caught is soon overpowered by sheer force - its crew helpless as their ship is thrown against the sheer rock. Even in calm weather, the wind howls mournfully around the curved surface, creating a sense of superstitious dread in the bravest of men. Legend has it this mournful sound is the lament of Sirens, seeking atonement for the terrible loss of life throughout the centuries. The red discolouring at the base is said to be caused by bloody tears of the Sirens, as they weep their bitter lament for souls taken before their time... WM file, TG render, Slight gamma correction & border addition in PSP. Thanks for viewing.
