Binary Dreams - a work-in-progress graphic novel by Libernull I've been writing the storyline for quite some time now and it is finally taking shape. Being able to realize the characters has been a big help. A lot just seemed to click when this image finally rendered. Shown are Rin and Kane - Rin, seated on her Nippon-Koyo 'Razor' maglev, is a top agent for the GRA (Genetic Regulatory Agency) and wages war against those entities who would abuse genetic engineering, bioroid manufacturing, and cloning. She herself is a unique cybershell - constructed by Nanodynamics, Inc. for the GRA - and her brain was destroyed in the process of uploading her consciousness. Thus, in addition to all the tribulations of being a GRA agent, she's wrestling with her own loss of humanity. Kane, standing next to his Vospor-Babbage Warthog, is a pre-ban military-grade Caniis series bioroid. Originally, the Caniis were manufactured as selfsufficient long-range recon patrols - combining the genetic material of Canis Lupus Occidentalis and human genestock, the parahuman bioroid was optimized for squad-based counter-insurgency actions. However, the Caniis soldiers had the annoying tendency to constantly re-establish their squad leader based on victory in periodic fights among troops. After some time in the field, they would also begin to disregard any chain of command, and rely completely upon the squad leader and his goals. After 8 years in service, the Caniis series was made obsolite and retired from active military service. The GRA 'recruited' Kane shortly after his retirement.
