Description
"Laksh" in sanskrit means "many". Etymologically the English word "Lakh" is a derivative of this same word. And in Hindu mythology, Lakhsmi is the Goddess of wealth.
"Dweep" means "island". Lakshadweep is belt of many tiny islands on the eastern side of India.
