Description

Bryce, Amorpium, Photoshop. I got the idea for this ship from the story of the so called "Philadelpia Experiment." Supposedly the US military did a top secret experiment where they placed a bunch of electric generators aboard a metal ship. The idea was, if they could create a large enough electromagnetic field, they could stealth the ship from radar. It worked, but they let the experiment go much further. The ship developed a greenish haze around it, and it eventually disappeared completely. When it reappeared sometime later, some sailors aboard were found fused with the deck plates, some in the walls others still missing. Some speculate that it may have entered a different dimension/universe, etc. The Orion II ship develops two large magnetic fields (generated by the two counter-rotating EMF armatures and generator coils) that envelop the ship. Eventually the field sucks the ship temporarily into a different dimension, and back into ours, but in a different part of the universe; making it a faster than light interstellar craft. The dark lines all over the ship (more visible and I know, less realistic looking in "Maiden Voyage") are the outline of protective tiles, to protect computers and passengers from exposure to extreme magnetic fields. I plan to give a link someday to an animation i have made of the ship making a "jump." More images to come, hope you all enjoy them, and thanks for all the nice comments on my previous works.

I love this ship, I would have liked to see a perspective view, but a great bit of artwork and very well thought out.

With all those EM emmissions, I guess there isn't a need for seatbelts. I think I will stick to a car for now. Great job on the modeling and like already mentioned..you definately thought this one out.

Nevermindin' the model itself it's a very nice project layout. The whole portfolio is very well designed. Back to the ship it's realy thought out and after the story looks very close to truth.

Great modeling and concept! Have you ever heard of Al Bielek who was in the time experiment under some secret government project, who had travelled to the Mars underground facility? Anyhow, fantastic job on this piece!
