Description

I was inspired by the work of tevoboy, who has some awesome renderings of comic book characters, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. I figured I'd start easy with the silver surfer, but I found lighting was actually a real challenge. Look forward to comments though. This is also dedicated to my buddy Tim.

I was a kid when the Silver Surfer (Herald of Galactus - I believe) first appeared in the Fantastic Four Comic. Your render would do ol' Stan Lee proud!

I've never really been a Silver Surfer fan, preferring Quasar with his quantum bands. But all I can say is WOW ... great work. I've still got lots to learn!

Great work, if you think about it, it almost gives you that Jack Kirby feel with the dark black lines in the body and the space, weel done. one thing of advise , and I'm only saying this cause I tried this in the past and it all turned out great except The fact that the Surfer doesn't have any toes, man you get rid of that and this would be a perfect a 10.995.

Truly excellent. Actually, now that I see it, I prefer the toes. It gives the surfer a somewhat sexier look (ok ok so I have a foot fetish. LOL). Seriously, I've never seen SS look better in this format. The image retains the classic feel of an ultra powerful cosmic entity, and yet also carries with it a vague, human like sensuality as well (at least I think so anyway). I'm a big fan of Quasar too, and wouldn't mind seeing your take on him either. Anytime you feel up to a real challenge, I bet a group shot like the Avengers or X-Men could keep you busy (just throwing some ideas out to you). Anyway, I'll keep my eyes open for what comes next. Can't wait to see your next Marvel work.

Way cool! You did a superb job with the Silver Surfer in this piece. The camera angle is awesome and gives a good sense of action. Awesome artwork!
