I suppose that I'm somewhat of a Walter Mitty. By day a (occasionally) mild mannered Design engineer working for a major civil helicopter manufacturer. By night a tall, dashing Virtual CG photographer of the virtual places and beautiful women inside my head. I currently reside in the wonderful northern barbarian (ask my friends from Texas) town of Montreal, Canada. Feasting, quaffing and appreciating beautiful women - hey someone's got to do it! Thanks for looking!

Well, as a woodworker, I think the chair texture looks pretty good; if you made the grain on the tabletop all straight and increased the fine'grain', it would be a dead ringer for bamboo veneer. Everything else looks perfect to me!

Modeling is superb.. I think you prety much have this down pat and are developing your own style.. my only suggestion is to keep going!

The design for the coin...is it something you made up or did you actually looked at a real coin? It is not really important but where i come from we use the same exact type of coin so i was just wondering...

They are Canadian $1 (the gold one) and $2 (the bimetallic one).

I like this HDR rendered image, would you mind sharing your scene settings and/or render settings on this piece?

It's quite a render...since you asked there is one thing. Your focal lenth has made a twist in the dof. Could be me as I'm a little twisted too. A little refraction on the wood sealer might break up the reflect so it's not so mirrorlike. This is the little stuff that takes it over the top, though. You'll be photographic in a short time!

'Your focal lenth has made a twist in the dof.'... I am wondering what richardson means by this?... also, I hear HDRI bandied about but don't know what that is either... so maybe that could be answered in Lesson No. 1... my only critique would be why the opaque gray material between the spindles on the 'Windsor' chair? Another excellent work of 'Realism'!
