Description

This is a new technique lighting technique i am playing with at the momment, instead of using radiosity i used a light array of 73 lights, one area light and a spotlight with a projected image, render time 30 minutes unlike the radiosity version i posted before which had a render time of 6 hours. I am happier with this render because the textures have more depth. Enjoy

Yeah, I used that in Bryce... But what's the trick with projected image?

now that my friend is a secret :) nah just kidding i used a projected image through a spotlight to add a slight diffrence to the light colour and intensity, if you look closely you can see the darker areas across the wooden floor, its not much but it does help with get that extra bit of realism.

Radiosity is nice, but it's not the only way to get the job done, as this image shows. Good work!

You are definately on to something. This is similar to the technique I tried in Bryce, but the sheer number of lights made the render too painful to consider. Must try this in LW. Thanks for the inspiration!

I like innovative folks. I'm just a youngin (19) and I had a similar idea when I was bored in drafting class and I rendered a high res pen of mine using 25 omni lights in Autocad 2000... got a surprisingly good result considering that rendering wasn't the program's strong point. Feel free to peek at my site and see what I mean...
