Description
A poster project for school... 100% photoshop.
I decided to take a surrealistic approach. An innocent looking young girl toting an inflated 'balloon' bomb. She seeme oblivious to the nature of her toy, just wandering some windy hayfield with an absent expression. The hue of the poster invokes a dreary mood - reinforcing the juxtaposition of war and innocence. The bomb is obviously floating, but seems to defy the forceful wind.
I did it in about 2 hours late at night. The biggest issue I've had is that the bomb is mistaken for a blimp or zeplin. Hopefully the yellow lettering and green panels will help.

First of all I want to say how cool I think your style is. Poster project for school...yes. Illustrations for children's books...a much bigger yes. Its a perfect style. As for the bomb, permit me a small suggestion. Maybe some darker tonality on the balloon/bomb to make it a little more menacing. I must confess to not reading it as a bomb until reading your explanation. But please don't let that take away from what I think is just a wonderful style. Great job!!! -jay

love your bomb...this is a powerful image for the children get hurt the most in war for they donot understand it .We adult do not understand war at times too.

At first I thought of a Zeppelin, not a bomb. But nevertheless the image has charme IMO. Surreal? I did not feel it (perhaps I left reality?). I like your style very much.

In the thumbnail I saw Zeppelin, but in the large version it's easily recognizable as a bomb. Excellent style ! Schitterend !
