Description
It's from the 60's, but no, not the one from the song. The vehicle is based on the one seen in the TV show "Thunderbirds". It's way too clean unlike the one on the show but I wanted to experiment with some raytraced materials and lighting effects. I will probably dirty it up and put it into action for the upcoming renders.

Well it might be clean, but it's excently modelled, I wish I had more time for modeling. Looks great, the dirt will come later. The materials are ok, the pedestal has a great meterial.

Thunderbirds are go! I use to watch this when I was a kid and now my kids watch it on cable tv. Are you going to make them available and are you going to create more?

Man this brings back memories. I use to love that show. As crappy as it was it was state of the art for it's time. Nicely done.

Cool work, very nice modeling and the lighting and texturing is superb thats not the 3d max scanline render is it? looks like it could be brazil, Great work.

Hi all, thanks for the kind comments. Just a word on the render method: Std Max scanline with some raytraced materials. I also used the blur render effect and the VPost film grain to give it a more photo-like look. I would have tried Brazil, but I needed to render out at 4000x3000 for each shot (for printing).

Very Nice... your modelling skills are exceptional- keep up the great work!!!
MaxedOut
excellent rendering technique. the only quibble i have is with the reflections in the windshield. they suggest some sort or weird overhead fluorescent lighting and it doesnt look quite right for the scene. but the modelling (especially after seeing the cockpit in detail) is quite impressive
Morgul
very good rendering. great lighting
