Sorry Lightpen, you are not finished yet. You have a very glaring mistake. Look close, your lowest and middle sails, the largest on the first 2 masts, are floating away from the yardarms. They need to be hanging from each yardarm. The smaller sails, on the ends of each yardarm are fine. The 4 sails needing fixing should be hanging just like the small sails on their yardarms under the forwardmost mast, the Jib Boom. As it is now, some sails and rigging look like they are intersecting or disappearing into other sails. Also, close the gunports. And tune down the reflectivity on the water, it looks too much like glass. And add some spray from the ship. This much water turbulence would cause a large amount of spray.

FitArtistSF ....where's your stuff.I think the render is great and what effect you tried to achieve you accomplished. As I do with this model, I try to capture a scene that is appealing. Not to try to make it as real as it should be.(and yes FitArtist I have read all about the ship)

Wow, fitartistsf really ripped you a new one. Shame on you for not pleaseing the whole world. I think you image is near photo quality. The lighting is really well done as well as the choice of water mats. Really great job!

Did anyone else notice how beautifully lit this is? You've created an almost sepia hue without using sepia. A great piece of period work!

Well.. I love the light and colours. The tones on the sails are realy great! But I must agree with FitArtistSF. Sails are in completely surealistic positions. And the material of sails shadow side should be closer to some transparency than complete black. The gunports realy should be closed under such cirmustances. And ship jumped way to high on this wave.

your almost there, the ropes that are usually on the bottom corners of the sails arent there on any of them. and the rigging on the bow dissapears into the lower mainsails. i dont think rope can do that. the sails are aged, i like that. the water is great, and the sails overlap eachother and stuff. but other than that, a great work of art.from the ashes of disaster grow the roses of sucess.
