Description
"Coming to Sarodor was, for me, like being born again. I had a new family, a new home, a brand new world to explore. The misery and suffering of life in the real world was quickly forgotten.
"I spent my time learning all that I could about Sarodor and the history of the Order. And, of course, being a good Vixen. All the while, my healing skills were developing remarkably. There are few injuries sustained at the Temple - an occasional bout of flu, or a sprained ankle - and all of these I was able to heal quickly.
"Healing people inevitably leads to a great deal of trust being bestowed in you, and soon I found myself assuming the role of Sinistra's second-in-command, being consulted on important decisions, managing the day-to-day running of the Temple, and even helping train new recruits.
"As each year passed, Sinistra entrusted me with more and more of her affairs and secrets. After twenty years in the Order, she even taught me how to..."
"I'm sorry," April interrupts, looking embarrassed but determined. "But did you say you were in the Order for twenty years?"
"Yes," Katerina answers, a faint smile touching her lips as she anticipates the question that will follow.
"Well..." April begins slowly, performing some quick mental calculations. "You also said earlier that you were born long before my great grandparents, and that you were in London during the plague. Wasn't the plague in, like, the 1800's?"
"1665," Katerina corrects.
April's jaw drops. "Then I...well, I hope you don't mind me asking, Katerina - but how old are you?"
"I've aged very slowly since leaving the Temple," Katerina explains. "But I was born three-hundred-and-fifty-six years ago."
"Oh...oh my God. You only look about...about eighty."
Katerina nods. "Those still living in the Temple do not age at all. I am sure you met the Twins at some point during your short stay in the Temple? Tracey and Mandy, I mean (they're not actually related, but they were recruited on the same day and have been inseparable ever since). Anyway, I'm sure they look about eighteen to your eyes, but they were born just a few years after I was. I helped induct them into the Order..."

Your story is developing superbly! And of course, always supported by an excellent render! Nice texturing on this one to help reflect the prior period of Katerina's life! Bravo!

That effect you applied to the render works very well, it makes it very clear this is about Katerinas past. Excellent image! And a nice new twist to the story: living in the Temple means you don't age, but does it also mean you don't grow, learn and change?
Another great installment, and I just can't wait for the next one.
