Description

Anatolian Hisar was strengthened during the construction of Rumelian Hisar in 1452 by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror with addition of new parts. The Hisar was used as a prison for some period and it was this hisar which played an important role in prevention of Kazakh invasion in 17th and 18th centuries. In the following years, it lost its importance. *** Thank you for all comments ***

A beautiful image! Is this a composite of two shots? The light looks like it is coming from behind and from the left, yet there is a sun in the clouds in the background.... it's rather confusing.... :~)

Actually, I am also confused with this photo taken last year during one of my last visit to Istanbul, but I forget the way of taking this image. I remember from your comments! :)) It is a shot through a window of hull wich I am in, taking this photo :)) Thank you very much for your precious comments.
