I don't think it's ugly, too! The only ugly thing I see is the mount of the antenna :o) Might I suggest to use a smaller construction, perhaps similar to the antenna of the Millenium Falcon?

Great work! I second Glazy's comment. I immediately thought of Peter Elson, Angus McKie, Tony Roberts and the other artists that appeared in the "Terran Trade Authority" series of books.
