Description

Rendered in Poser 4, the rest is photoshop 7. I am focusing more on postwork and really could use some pointers. I will add that I'm using an optical mouse until I get my new tablet since I know that makes a world of difference. Thanks as always ~ Lady

the only help I can give that you need shadows where the hair lies down. The hair painting looks realy good considering it's with a mouse

Can't give you any pointers, cuz I don't really know how to postwork hair. There are plenty of hair tutorials to looks at tho. All I can say it, find one that you are comfortable with and keep practicing. Nice image btw.

The hair looks great. Has a nice variety of different tones to it. Try to soften it up a little around the hair line using a small (12pt or smaller based on render size) brush under the natural brushes...normal smudge setting....at about 64%. That should help a little bit. Also, experiment with the dodge and burn tools on a Highlight setting. You'll notice a bit difference. Other than that...WONDERFUL!

When working on faces and hair, nothing helps me more than to have a decent sized mirror next to my computer :). Even if the gender is different, it provides good insight and you notice highlights and shadows alot more. Avengia has some really good tips and JV is right that there are alot of great tutorials out there. Try working in small, not very opaque strokes and add highlights. A tablet will help put the orginal, flowing feel into the hair. For a little bit of added realism, you can also put a slight shadow under the hair on the neck. Mousework is tough. You did a good job with it.
