Description

Time to let everyone in on a little secret. For those who have missed out on the random transformations discussion on the mailing list, here's a wonderful little tip for lazy people (like me) who don't like to fiddle too much with moving triangles around. This image is the same flame (the triangles are all in the exact same positions) as my "Jungle Flower" image. The only difference between the two images is the variations used on a couple of the triangles. (I'll post the parameter file somewhere later, I have a batch render going right now and don't want to screw it up.) So all I did was hit a button to get a completely different look. The littel "play script" button, with the following random transformation script loaded (Copy and paste this into your script editor and save it as "Random Transformation",; note that this script does NOT, as of yet, come with the apophysis 2 package.): {******************************* } { Random Variation Script } { by Mark Townsend } {******************************* } with Transform do begin for i := 0 to NVARS - 1 do Variation[i] := 0; repeat v1 := Trunc(random * NVARS); until Options.Variations[v1]; repeat v2 := Trunc(random * NVARS); until Options.Variations[v2]; repeat v3 := Trunc(random * NVARS); until Options.Variations[v3]; Variation[v1] := random; Variation[v2] := random; Variation[v3] := random; end; To use this script, select a triangle in the editor window and run the script. That's it, completely new look at the click of a button, without rearranging pesky triangles. I hope this is of some use to somebody, I am enjoying this way too much to keep it to myself. :)
