This is Ladder; He is a part of a future project that I'm planning on doing soon. I'm not getting the feel that I want from this picture. I want Ladder to have the look to say

Ladder looks cute, but i can understand that you miss the feeling that he gives you a "hello", its hard to workout expressions on a Dog if not the whole Body is seen, because most of their language is Body Language ;-) ..... hope to see Ladder soon again

Hya - this is looking good. One way to make expression with an animal figure is to experiment with the position of the eyes. It is amazing what a difference it can make at what angle the eyes are positioned.

I agree most of a dogs hello is in the body language like the tail wagging also maybe have the mouth slightly open and raise the upper lip into a half smile I swear sometimes my terrier mix looks like he is grinning at me
