Fantastic pix. MANY THANKS!! Incredible, beautiful, inspiring. Personification of this (highly endangered) Great Cat's majesty & power. This goes on my desktop today. You should let the groups that work to save this wonderful animal from extinction about this magnificent picture. Proper thanks for this great creation are hard to express. Thank you, again.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I just came in from work and your words were the perfect ending to a long day. If anyone knows how to contact these groups, I would be pleased to allow them to use my work.

This looks like the tiger is composited. I am looking on the area of the tiger's back and there is no short fur--there is clean edge distinction between the fur region and the background. Excellent masking selection though to acheieve at this!

I'm sorry!!! I just realized that I was in such a rush to post this before I got to work that I failed to mention how I did this. This is actually two shots. The background is one I didn't like because the foreground was to "busy". I painted in clouds. The tiger is very real. He was playing with his caretaker and when the caretaker threw a toy, the tiger pounced on it. I used the erase tool to make the tiger layer then blended it into the background using PS7. Both shots were taken with a Canon EOS10D.
