Whereas the Nagato is a more traditional design, the Venom prototype is the first ship introducing the most modern techniques in deep space ship building. The Venom prototype has been outfitted with a succesfull hybrid of various alien materials and the known metals as armor. About 75% of the outer hull is plated with this hybrid armor which is about twice as strong as conventional ship armor and has rare regenerative capabilities, the armor has been proven very effective against alien weapons, especially those of the Brood and Rivii kind. The increase in mass caused by this armor, required the addition of a third 'Warbird mark III' engine, thus increasing thrust and power generation capabilities of the ship. Another first in the history of fighter-class ship building is the fact that the Venom prototype is equipped with 2 Cataclysm Summoner Mark IV disruptor class weapons...as you all know the only ships so far that are capable of carrying these immense and deadly weapons are the class 3 and 4 warvessels...Adding 2 such weapons to a relatively small fighter makes the Venom prototype a ship to fear. Never have we been able to combine speed, manouverability with such destructive powers... Of all weapons, the disruptors have been proven to be the most effective against most alien species and now, with the creation of the Venom fighter class ship we might finally have a chance to defeat the Brood! Next to this, the ship has also been equipped with 2 standard lasers, its of course possible to replace these by plasmas or even a launcher. All this firepower did require more power, but the third engine provides the ship with enough power to last a long time in extreme hostile situations.
