Description

This image is dedicated to Valentina. The textures in your work "All equal in front of Death" and "Don't hurt us !" gave me the inspiration to try this. Thank you. :) During 79 AD, the volcano Vesuvius erupted raining fire and ash down on the two flourishing towns of Pompei and Herculaneum. Pictures of the ash covered remains of those caught in the midst of the mountain's fury have stuck with me ever since I saw them as a child. To all the victims of natural disasters around the world and throughout the ages, you shall not be forgotten. By way of a technical note, there were a lot of render errors that left speckles of black on this image. While I used Photoshop to remove the larger and more jarring areas, many of those patches remain and I think add to the image. Serendipity is my ally! Also, it was nice to find a use for the old Poser 2 hair (it looked petrified to begin with) and create my first Poser bump map! :) The only real "work" was to scale the texture to different sizes for best effect and in creating the poses. I must thank Mayang for the wonderful texture! Very nice. My high school band played a piece entitled Vesuvius. I wish I could have seen the ruins when I was in Italy.
