Description
Midas was rewarded with his wish of the touch of gold for sparing the god Dionysus' satyr. Dionysus warned of such power but Midas was thrilled with his gift and gleefully touched many things turning them to gold. Midas soon regretted his wish, though, when he could not eat because his food and drink became gold at his touch. He soon fell into deep despair because he accidentally touched his daughter and she became a statue of gold. Dionysus was an understanding god and allowed Midas to wash the gift away in the Pactolus River.
A drawn out story, although summarized here.
Hope that you enjoy!

Certainly a great depiction of that cursed golden touch. I think I am seeing that instant of transmutation where something he has touched is rearranging its molecules into gold. Wonderful sheen and golden colors, swirling and reforming into a solid matrix of the precious metal. All I want to know is how he ended up in the automotive exhaust system business. Terrific work, I always enjoy reading your descriptions as well!

Hello Treena - this is really gorgeous : the jewelled spiral looks stunning against the nicely out of focus background with it's rich nectarine colouring . Good to see you doing a 'series' as well ! ........ Michael
