"The sphere is growing at an incredible rate. 5 kilometres in diameter, 10 .. 20 ..100 ..500. Stargazer comes about at full impulse. But even then, the Stargazer is unable to evade the energy surges from the artefact. The energy surges continues to hit the Stargazer

Good SF concept and good explanation --- both verbal and graphic. BTW, the thumb images for "Return of the Lost" Parts 1 and 2 are unrelated to the corrsponding main images -- the thumbs show the ship emerging from a 3D manifold instead of the artefact in the background.
