Description
One of my my previous images ("My Technique") raised a IM discussion about some details. I did this image to illustrate some points. As I said earlier, I have a lot to learn, these discussion are learning source for me.
Answers to some topics:
About question, what is "flats" phase: third image. Just flat color, no shading yet.
About why my final looks worse than some previous phase -- god, I wish I knew, probably it's just that I suck in coloring... >;D . I am willing to learn, if someone has generic level tips... :)
About using pricey apps -- here only ones which I paid something for are Paint Shop Pro 7 (PSP is less than $80) and scanner (mine's poor one, about $50). I *used* Deneba Canvas 7, but that comes free with Computer Arts 2004 March issue (hint, hint)! ;)
I *have* huge amount of software, but for just a show, I even did the vector part with mouse... (I'm quite used to tablet now... But I didn't use it now!) Actually it was quite OK.
Hey, if anyone is still interested, let's discuss on 2D Forum?

My dear Markku, I don't understand why u still think that u suck at coloring!! Of course, am far from being an expert on the topic, not even a beginner actually, but I've got eyes like everyone else and what I see pleases my eyes! And, to me, the final drawing is just fantastic and I don't see anythin wrong with it at all! Maybe u're doing ur head in too much my dear Markku!? ;P hehe! Love to see ur different steps to get there too... :)

Just amazing to put your work out there like this I would have to take about three days of submitting to showcase anything i did so many mistakes and problems i have with h=each piece...I teach myself everyday what to do and not to do..this is wonderful that you took the time to show ppl how you come up with your wonderful work...ILOVE YOUR WORK MARKKU..so please no more negative talk about being good or not good at one thing ...the only wisdom I have on this is this...WE all get better at mastering our own gift...and you are truely gifted..hugs keep up the great work..love and respect...Julia

Looks good to me!! I just don't understand why use vector lines (that is a lot of work)if you could work with layers and keep your original lines.
