I killed a Gnat yesterday...It affected me...but only for a minute...the reason is, I don't feel that, in the grand scheme of things, I am more significant than any organism...

This photo is hard to me. But I understand your purpose. You bring a deep reflection about, as you say, - the new things that is happening nowadays around the world in the name of: Name it what ever you like!!!

You did not like it, but you continued killing them? I don't quite understand your analogy? Are you going to eat the pigeons? Or are you turning into the very same thing that seems to be bothering you? The things that are happening around the world are not new at all! They have been happening in one form or another since the beginning of time and will not stop until all of us learns to respect the right to life of the "Pigeon".

A thought provoking image.... and quite a beautiful photograph. I don't know what to say... other than I think that all life, be it an insect an animal or a human being is significant. What it all boils down to is humans, as intelligent as they are supposed to be, are probably the stupidest of all creatures here on this planet.

During my adolescence I often accompanied my father with hunting.I did not have any guilt feelings when I killed an animal ; But one day I drew a wild goose and only wounded it ,It fell into water and tried to set out again .The geese which accompanied it returned close to it.They turned around it to help it to set out again and took again their voyage only when it ceased moving .It is the last time that I was with hunting I have thanks to these wild gooses learned how to respect the life .Your image is excellent but very hard and it returns to me sad.

A messege can be hard, can be soft, dont kill the messenger. Most people eat meat, lets face it, thats not made in a factory. Maybe people that eat meat, should be able to kill animals themselfs? I did and when I am hungry will do it again. I just dont hunting because there is no need 2 in our society. Its done for fun, and I dont kill animals for fun, but only if I am gone eat them. Salam Saad_no, youre shot tells the story, its always peace thats killed by violance.

I think I have to agree with Kropot...people hunting as barbaric and wrong...and then go to get a bigmac. It's easy to forget where meat comes from, and if more people ate pigeon...we'd probably have less problems over here in London ;) The things that are happening in the world...are different because they're about hate rather than food. A beautiful picture that really does inspire pathos

I used to hunt as a child and enjoyed it very much. At some point I became one with the spirit of living things and no longer could hunt. If society fell apart I again would hunt but for survival, not sport. We do eat animals, but we have the choice of respecting the animals that we eat. I also agree with dbyrd. What is happening in the world is not new at all.
