Description

Fairy Wheel Seen by only one or two persons worldwide in any generation, consider yourself lucky beyond lucky to encounter one in the wild. A fairy wheel is a sure sign that a fairy mound ( community) is close by to where it is forming ..so be extra careful where you step should you encounter one. The wheel usually forms in mid air between 4 and 8 feet from the ground and hovers until it dissapates under it's own dictates. One ancient report claims it lasting for almost 3 hours ..while unconfirmed more recent sightings all last under an hour . ( my occurrence was only 41 minutes ..but i came upon it already in existance and do not know how long it had been burning ) It is assumed that a fairy wheel is a natural dispersal of collected excess fairy energy but it is one phenomenon that even the Fae have no control over nor understand for sure. But the "excess fae energy " theory holds a nose's worth of snot truth since they only seem to occur near mounds with population excesses of over 500. Usually a taglement* has occured prior to a mound's population ever reaching 500 ...which may also account for it's rarity. Also known as "Fae Wheel", "Fae Turning Glow ", and obscurely... ( " Haberdasher's Star " or "Crusty's Lament " ...very old reference and origin and meaning uncertain ) ..and " Light of Lights " ...tho " Light of Lights " is strictly the fairy term for the occurance. ( i took this photo of one in a northern Ohio meadow last fall..and filtered out all the background so it could be viewed in all it's splendor unhindered ) ~~ clickninny~~ * taglement is the formal or informal exodus of a portion of one fairy mound leaving to build a new mound within the required and traditional amount of distance. - Excerpts taken from " CLickninny's Compendium of Fairy Secrets and other Fae Smells to Sniff " - ~~~ all the above is copyright 2004 ~ Jim Henderson ~~~

You have given me my first laugh today! I started off reading your story in all seriousness until it got wilder and wilder. And yet, the image could well have most of the meaning you say. It is very ethereal. I love it.
