for your first try this really looks great. sky colors are great too. try out some light from the left or right, gives the terrain more contrasts. great work!

The main thing is that you need a more interesting terrain or point of view. Your level edges of land and water are not artistically interesting. Move your camera around until you get contrasting heights for mountains and things like that. Your atmosphere is good. Also, start playing more with surfaces on the terrain.
