A really nice composition. I love fantasy. I'd like to offer a suggestion or two. If you widen the picture you could move the dragon over a bit. His position looks a little off for the angle of the archer's arrow. Hmm, that's all. Your posing of the archer is great.

Excelent, congratulations. I love everything in this image. Has the inspiration come from Smaug death from the Hobbit?

Yes the inspiration comes from Tolkien's The Hobbit. It's Smaug in all of his boasting glory...right down to the missing scale over his heart. The archer isn't quite on target since he's just drawn his bow, but I assure you that he won't miss.;)
