Description

Every time I hit the flash, he would raise his feathers. So I hit the strobe, turned it off and waited for him to ruffle again. F/6.7, 1/750 sec, ISO 400, 500mm. Shot with a Cacon EOS10D.

Beautiful capture and I can understand his annoyance. Once I was clicking away in an aquarium and my cam was on auto flash and the flash went on twice or thrice before i switched it off. The next day, I came to the same place with a better idea as to how to capture the fish again and I was glared at by the attendent there. He stoped me from taking pics and told me that my clicking away the previous day had made 4 of the fishes go blind. I have been feel guilty ever since. These flash lights could be irritating to these animals at times. Nevertheless, this is an excellent , colorful capture , Very impressive.:O))

Thank you all for the wonderful support. No need to worry about the parrot going blind, was very bright outside, but I do know what you mean that flash can harm species that aren't used to very much light. I was using the flash as fill light on a flower when I noticed his reaction. Once again, thank you all for the kind words! :)
