Description

DAZ Millennium PreSchool Girl with Long Silky Hair and Poserworld Combat Pants, Jacket, & Scat Boots; Spaceship background by AFA Prop Dept, RDNA Planet, and Balloon by TrekkieGrrl. This started out as a throwaway image that was only going to be used to illustrate a tutorial on creating star backgrounds. Initially, I was going to use a wizard standing on a mountain top against the stars, then a spaceship flying past a star background. Then I decided on a spaceship interior looking out and, without knowing why, decided to have a little girl peeking out. The balloon was an afterthought because I wanted to make it appear that what the girl was seeing wasn't very unusual. The balloon adds a common touch to the image and gives the impression that she was running through the halls and stopped to look at something pretty. It's an image that grew on me as I was doing it. I hope you enjoy it.

I like it! Yes, who knows. Some time in the future, a view like this could be commonplace. Very nice starry background too. Thanks for showing it to me :o)

Very impressive, I find it always interesting that the really cool images always seem to start out as a play or messing about image. The depth on this one could mean so very much when one looks and interprets your image here. Good job!

Thanks! It's one of the things I'm learning to enjoy about Poser. It lets a user do something fairly sophisticated fairly quickly. It's still a couple days of work, playing with lighting and various elements of the image. I even put an hour into getting hair to look like it was partly floating only to have the lighting obscure it. It was better lit this way than with a brighter setting because it's more dramatic. I tried a render where most of the light came from inside the ship and it didn't work as well. It's nice to start with nothing and end up with something enjoyable. That's what makes Poser fun to use even if it can be a bit of work to do right.

Pretty cool! I think the balloon makes a great contrast with the sci-fi stuff, and stepping on the box is a nice detail. Good work!
