Not bad, but I would first of all fix that ground texture to a higher res image map, or procedurals, then fix the lighting, it looks way too cg-ish. The column texture is interesting, but it doesnt look like marble. The twigs in the background are a nice touch.

I agree with the above, but also have a suggestion for you. On your pillar models..or any model for that fact that contains sharp edges..alway sapply a small amount of bevel to help round out those corners. If these pillars have been outside and weathered...erosion is going to take its toll. Pretty much everything doesn't have a perfect 90 degree angle...round em out a little bit. I'm interested to see how far you'll take this image. Good start!

It's a good start. Aside from the above input, perhaps you'd consider rearranging things a bit to give more focus to your composition. If these are supposed to be ruins, then there would be some hint of what they are the ruins of... just a thought. Nice work. :o)

Thanks for the ideas, I plan to try and improve this image later on this year. Yeh that could be soon or a long time i know:P but i'll get round to it, i'm currently working my way through the book "Inside Lightave 7", so after that hopefully.
