Description

Canon 10D + Sigma 28-300mm Hyperzoom ISO 800 f5.6 1/60 Yes, I know, shamelessly adding the word 'Breast' to the title in the hope of increasing views... Shot was taken in my garden with the aid of my new monopod and it's handy belt attachment thingy (1/60 sec at the full 300mm didn't seem too bad). I desaturated the background just to enhance the red/orange tones in this little fearless bird. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for viewing.

You did a wonderful job by desaturating the background. Love this image. Great capture too.

I love those birds (we call it in french "Rouge gorge" it means "red throat") I love supreme what you have done with this great shot. I agree with WandM about desaturation of background. EXL++

Very nice picture, and I have been waiting three months to get a picture of a cardinal and he will just not stay in one place long enough for me to get his picture. Spring is so sweet. :)

Love the little guy. But I think I'd love it even more with the green, natural background... :)))
