I signed up at Renderosity in 2000 and spent a few years being inspired by some great artists around here, and learn from them. I was moderator for the Vue forum here at Renderosity from 2004 to 2008. If you want to learn about Vue, or share some tips, I encourage you to visit us. IÂ am currently drifting away from pure CGÂ and more into digital painting. I wish your staying at Renderosity will be as warm and instructive as it has been for me.
BIO
I was born in France and currently living in the USA. I have a technical background in Computer Science and a strong attraction for anything related to graphism (from visualizations, image analysis to photography and computer graphics). For the past few years, my work in CG has developed into something a little more serious than a hobby, with growing aspiration to turn it into something professional.
I also have a personal website at : Linfa.net. It is growing slower than I would like but hopefully it is worth visiting. Among other things, this site contains my main gallery, a section dedicated to Computer Graphics called Tricks and Treats and a link to my Store, where you can purchase t-shirts, posters, calendars and other products using some of my designs.
My 'trilogy' of tools is Poser for characters, Vue Infinite for atmospheres and rendering and Photoshop for touching up. I am currently practicing with Painter (not much to show so far) and learning modeling with Hexagon and Zbrush.

Blue Max
Very Roger Dean-ish. Quite nice.
Heart'Song
This is really gorgeous. Reminds me of a book I once read, where music was expressed in colours. Very nice! (Is there a lot of difference between ver. 4 and the older versions?)

Excellent work

What effect did the volumetric atmosphere have on the render times?
agiel
jarm: The effect was not that dramatic. It was more or less absorbed by the increase in the rendering engine. As long as you don't overuse volumetric lights and shadows, it is still ok. To give you an idea, this one was rendered in 2h 30 min on a PIII 800 mHz with 256 M of RAM.

I feel like I am in a world on the inside of an abalone shell...Looking at this pic. I love these colors, the imagination in this scene... is the kind you can only seem to capture in a dream, and you have made a dream type state come to life... Great Job. MonVictorian.
