Description

Another in my "Yesteryear" series... when I was a kid in Detroit we lived on a street where all the houses were basically the same. The streets were lined with trees. Everyone in the neighborhood looked out for eachother, as one big happy family. We used to play outside... all the time. Even when no one else was around to play we could always find something to amuse us. Hopscotch was one of my favorite games. Amazingly, no one yelled at us for drawing in the road with chalk. You could play in the road without the fear of getting run over by a drunken driver or snatched out of the road by some crazed lunatic.. Kids today have lost these simpler times.. though I LOVE technology, I morn for the loss of freedom of a child's imagination that we once had. Rendered in Bryce. Xenofex burnt edge filter added in PSP... Thanks for viewing :-) Gail

...I love this. I'd never played hopscotch, but an elder friend got me a bag of chalk with two coloured throwing disks with instructions, and my sister and I went out on our driveway and had a great time. I won. Heh! Thanks for this picture. I can't wish for those days, I can only know they once existed, like Camelot. Ciao, Gail. Nikita
