Description
I wanted to make a picture from a painting...it's very, very hard and the result is not so good. Never mind, I'll try again !
Only Vue d'Esprit 4, except blur, done in Photopaint 10.
Thanks for viewing.

I disagree that the end result is not so good. I think it turned out very good. Yes, it is different, not an exact replica, but that would be boring I think. When a band does a cover of a song, they usually don't do it exactly as the origional artist did it. They add their flavor, their experience, their emotions to it, and often it turns out better than the origional. I personally think when you try again, you should put more of yourself into the recreation. Just my two cents. Thanks.

As an exercise in learning a program or technique I think you did very well. Agree with BeSerK, use the painting as a starting point for your own creative use of the software - even if it is your painting, it's a new interpretation. Look forward to the next post fer'sur.

I think it's a very good likeness; well done! Agree with above; I've done images myself (as well as collaborations with Davy) based on paintings, and it's impossible to replicate them exactly. But you give your own twist and impression of it, that makes it your artwork! Most important, is to have fun while doing it!

This is beautiful! Love the colors and the composition. Would love to see it without the blur, though.

In fact you are astoundingly close to the original... higher resolved, flatter rocks might improve the foreground, but these are just details. Very nice work!

I find the image very impressive and agree it does not have to be a perfect replica but rather can have its own character. IMHO it's only a touch too violet - but only if it is not the way you want it to be.

Wow ! A challenging endeavour! - try to use a spotlight directed verticaly on water to simulate this yellow sun reflecion on the water - perhaps it will work! Good luck! One remark - try to use multiple dark suns with soft shadows instead of ambient light. (there is a tutorial on my website about this technique) you will get better lighting.
