Description

This was originally going to be a character portrait. I got so absorbed in building the set that it turned into a still life instead. I thought it was about time to really give Poser 5 a workout, and start getting to grips with materials, lighting, and stuff like atmosphere. The scene still needs perfecting- I haven't got the hang of shadows yet, for starters. There are too many credits to list everything here. There's furniture from Daz and Baumgarten Enterprises, other props from 3D Cafe, Joe's 3D Fantasy Worlds, Deepath, Daz, Poserworld and RuntimeDNA. I used RomanceWorks' freebie Ultimate Fire, and there's probably some bits that I've forgotten. Many thanks to those who responded to my post in the forums on where I could find a sextant and an orrary. Comments are, as always, very welcome, particularly constructive critisism that will help me improve te image. Thanks for looking!

Very nice quality to the light: good focus and ambiance. I could be quite comfortable in a study like this!

You managed to get me to click on something that's not a pinup, so you must be doing something right ;). Excellent work! If you're not already using ray-traced shadows, try them.. they seem to work (more often) correctly.
